First Meeting!
The first meeting of the Girl Scout year went extremely well!
For starters our troop is a multi age level group. We have Brownies all the way up to Seniors.
I am the only Senior in the troop as of right now and so a lot of what I'll be doing will be solo or with the two Cadettes that we have in our troop. Our troop meetings are separated into different groups so that we can all get the most out of our meetings.
I lead our Senior and Cadette meeting and our leader made it so that we all will get a chance to perform a leadership role at our meetings.
We discussed community service hours and Girl Scout community service hours. I explained what I had previously done in the past and how I went about getting my community service pins. We decided that we wanted to help our community by:

- Cooking and collecting pop tabs for our local Ronald McDonald House
- Volunteer at the SPCA
- Volunteer at our American Legion Bingo Hall
- Donate bags of food for Meals on Wheels
For Girl Scouts we have come up with a few recruitment
events for our troop to run and to babysit
younger children while the Girl Scout leaders have their
monthly meeting. We are also trying to get permission to
administer our World Thinking Day!

If you do not know what World Thinking Day is, it is a day where Girl Scouts around the world think about their sister Girl Guides and Girl Scouts across the globe. This is a day we can learn about our sister's cultures and their Girl Scout traditions because some Girl Scouts in other countries perform different kinds of ceremonies or activities than we do.
In our meeting we also discussed Gold Award and Silver Award journeys. We are doing the Mission: Sisterhood! journey for me, the Senior and the MEdia journey for the Cadettes.
Take action in your community!
